Johnny Cartrige... get unbiased insight regarding ink cartriges and printing...

Hello,

This is the story of Johnny Cartrige. Johnny was born in the tumultuous 1970's, before any real at-home printing would even begin to exist. Johnny knew at a young age however, he would find a way to make his life stand for something. As a child, he became interested in these new devices called computers and his love for technology grew from there. Johnny received his first home computer as a birthday present before he was even ten years old. The computer, a TRS-80, was about the greatest gift this child could receive. Manufactured by Tandy and sold at the Radio Shack chain of stores, the TRS-80 provided fun, plenty of confusion, and even some functionality to those who like to dabble with these mysterious instruments. Computers were growing in strength by leaps and bounds and one peripheral device that didn't lag far behind was the printer. Although the first computer printer was invented back in the 1950's for the Univac computer, printing from home was not yet practical in the sense we have become accustomed.

Before long printing from home computers was as common as the computers themselves. Johnny found himself amazed once again at the technology required to print a simple document. He was even more taken aback by color printing and the speed at which these colorful papers can be produced. It actually wan't until the late 1980's that the Johnny and the rest of the world would have access to these wonderful machines in our homes.

Ironically, the new technology of household printers brought with it numerous new problems. Paper jams were one of the new problems. The other problem revolved around the ink cartriges. Computer users areound the world were soon finding themselves low on ink. The ink cartriges didn't last forever... and the amount and the type of printing had a direct impact on their lifespan. Replacing an ink cartrige with a direct oem replacement cartrige meant opening your wallet and forking over some real cash. Before you knew it however, ink refill kits and remanufactured cartriges entered the marketplace and now there were options. Johnny had emptied an ink cartrige or two in his day and he knew it was worth his time and effort to investigate the various options. Johnny has taken time to examine the props and cons of oem ink cartriges, remanufactured ink cartriges, and ink refilling kits.
